Aya Yorgi Church of Buyukada
The Aya Yorgi Church and Monastery is one of the significant places of pilgrimage in the Princes' Islands. Built on the peak of the highest hill in Büyükada, the church was established in the 18th century when there had been a monastery for several centuries already. Tourists have to ascend a picturesque trail to get to the top of the hill, but then they can enjoy a wonderful view of the Marmara Sea and Istanbul. It attracts pilgrims every year on April 23rd.
