Church of the Redeemer
One of the most striking monuments in the medieval city of Ani is the Church of the Redeemer. This church, built at the beginning of the 11th century, was erected by Prince Ablgharib Pahlavuni to contain a piece of the True Cross. While part of the church has been destroyed in the 20th century, its remaining half provides an excellent example of the exquisite stonework skills of Armenian craftsmen of the time.
