Pictorial Church
Tokalı Church, which is known as the “Pictorial Church” due to its amazing frescoes, is the biggest and one of the oldest rock-carved churches in Cappadocia. Built during the 10th and 11th centuries, this church is distinguished by its blue frescoes that narrate the story of Jesus chronologically. Directly carved on the volcanic rock, Tokalı Church is regarded as one of the best examples of Byzantine religious art.
