About Hierapolis Cathedral

Hierapolis Cathedral, built in the 6th century AD, was the city’s main Byzantine Christian church, reflecting its role as a growing pilgrimage center.

The cathedral was constructed in the 5th century AD, the time when Hierapolis was becoming a leading region for early Christianity.

Located near the main road and the baptistery, the cathedral featured a large nave, marble flooring, and sacred relics.
