About Dolmabahce Palace
Dolmabahce Palace is a 19th-century royal residence located along the Bosphorus.
The palace was built during the late Ottoman period in the name of Abdulmecid I and it replaced Topkapi Palace as the main administrative center. The interior design of palace combines Ottoman, Baroque, Rococo, and Neoclassical styles.
It features grand halls, crystal chandeliers, and the world’s largest Bohemian crystal staircase. With these features, the palace reveals the lavish lifestyle of Ottoman Empire beyond ist dignity.
As an important notice, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder of the Turkish Republic spent his final days here, making it an attraction of both royal and national memory for Turkey.
