Gezi Park
About Gezi Park
Gezi Park is a public green space located next to Taksim Square in the Beyoglu district of Istanbul.
Originally part of the Halil Pasha Artillery Barracks, it became a park in the 1940s as part of urban development efforts.
Though relatively small, it offers a quiet area with trees, benches, and walking paths in the heart of the city.
The park gained international attention in 2013 during public demonstrations, becoming a symbol of civic expression in modern Turkey.
