Laodicea Ancient City
About Laodicea Ancient City
Laodicea Ancient City, near Denizli, was a wealthy Roman center known for its medicine, textile trade, and early Christianity.
A city where remainings of great work that were founded and constructed starting from the third century BC are counted in terrain of large theater, sometimes regarded as the largest on record.
Once home to one of the Seven Churches of Revelation, it featured grand theaters, agoras, temples, and a complex water system.
Its Church of Laodicea reflects the city’s religious role, while its streets and ruins speak of prosperity and urban planning.
Still undergoing excavation, Laodicea offers a vivid glimpse into Roman life and biblical history in Asia Minor.
