Three Beauties

About Three Beauties

Three Beauties are Cappadocia’s most iconic fairy chimneys, located near Urgup.

Three Beauties of Cappadocia are not only iconic rock formations, they also carry a local legend that gives them emotional depth. According to the story, a princess from the region fell in love with a common shepherd, a match forbidden by her royal family.

The two fled and eventually had a child. But when they were discovered, the family was threatened. In desperation, the princess prayed to be saved and according to the tale, she, her husband, and their child were turned into stone by divine will.

Surrounded by valleys and volcanic hills, they’ve inspired local legends and become one of the region’s most photographed sights.

The Three Beauties symbolize both Cappadocia’s unique geology and the timeless stories shaped by its land.
