We were very happy that she was amendable to making changes.

Tuğçe with her easy to understand English, took us on a very informative and educational tour of the Topkapi Palace (including the most interesting Harem). We arrived when the palace first opened. As we had our museum passes already, after security she took us directly to the entrance as tour guides have this special privilege in museums.
After stopping to describe the overall layout of the palace grounds and purposes of the surrounding buildings we were expertly guided thru the crowds to begin our tour in the treasury building. This is the most exciting and of course most popular of all the buildings with its rich store of spectacular jewelry, swords /daggers, household items and much much more.

She explained so much of the history, the culture, the lifestyles, different religions and their practices & neighborhoods. We were able to get answers to all of our many questions as well.

During a fabulous lunch we discussed amending our schedule yet again due to the time. We prioritized the grand bazaar and visiting a wine tasting room near the Galata Tower.

We wanted to get Turkish lira and load money on the metro card our hotel gave us. We really didn’t feel comfortable doing this by ourselves the day before so were very happy to have Tuğçe help us do this. She also helped us in a bank to get smaller bills after the atm gave us some we felt were too large for our purposes.

We all took the tram to Karakoy,walked to the Galata tower and the wine tasting room.

My husband and I live in the heart of central California wine regions so were excited Tuğçe knew of this fabulous tasting room to take us to. The Turkish wines we tasted were interesting, unique and quite lovely. We walked out with 9 bottles, which was all we could carry (lol). We really enjoyed talking (thru Tuğçe as our interpreter) with the staff there about the regions the grapes come from, the flavor profiles of the wines and the processes used in making the wines.

He brought to a great restaurant and had us try an Ottoman dish which we enjoyed so much! He even took time listing good places to buy coffee, tea, etc. We definitely recommend his services.
