Alexandria Troas
Alexandria Troas was one of the major harbor cities in ancient times, located on the Aegean coast of northwestern Anatolia, not far from Canakkale.
The city, founded during the Hellenistic era and enlarged in Roman times, served as the most important harbor that linked Anatolia to the Aegean world.
Remains include large baths, a stadium, an agora, and harbor facilities that attest to the city's economic prosperity.
Alexandria Troas also carries importance in the history of early Christianity, with Apostle Paul's journeys leaving their mark upon the city.
