Ancient Agora of Sardis was the main civic and commercial center of the city and it was a living art of everyday life in ancient Lydia.
The city market, which was largely developed in the Roman period, was encircled by stoas, public buildings, and paved walkways where the people would come, trade, have meetings, and conduct religious ceremonies.
Agora of Sardis is an excellent example of a well, planned city and shows the economic prosperity of Sardis in ancient times.
