Ancient Myndos Gate
The Myndos Gate is a highly intact remnant of the old city of Halicarnassus which existed in the region where the city of Bodrum stands at present. Constructed in the 4th century BCE when Mausolus was ruling, the gate is an integral part of the fortifications of the city. The gate is famous for being the place from where Alexander the Great started his attack on the city of Halicarnassus in 334 BCE.
