Ancient Theatre of Sagalassos

Ancient Theatre of Sagalassos is situated dramatically on a mountain slope in southwestern Turkiye, outside of Burdur.

Built during the Roman period, and seating over 9,000, Sagalassos Theatre was not only an impressive structure, it presented visitors many views from its terraces, both of the performances and the surrounding Taurus Mountains.

The theatre's semi-circular seating, stage remains, and high-altitude location are all partially ruined with earthquakes but still create an unforgettable atmosphere.

The theatre is indicative of the wealth and culture of ancient Pisidia and is an impressive expression of Sagalassos' glory.
