Cesme Castle

Cesme Castle, located on Turkey’s Aegean coast, was built in 1508 under Ottoman Sultan Bayezid II to protect against Venetian and pirate attacks.

Once standing directly on the shoreline, it now lies slightly inland due to natural land shifts.

The well-preserved fortress has six towers and sturdy walls, offering sea views and historical ambiance.

Inside, Cesme Archaeological Museum displays regional artifacts and exhibits on the 1770 naval Battle of Cesme, reflecting the town’s rich maritime past.
