Colossae Ancient City
Colossae Ancient City was an early Phrygian settlement in the Lycus Valley, not far from present, day Denizli.
The city, which was famous for its textile production and good location, thrived until it was eclipsed by the neighbouring Laodicea.
It is quite a notable city in the early Christian history as the Epistle to the Colossians is addressed to it.
The location near Colossae, which has been mostly untouched by digs, still displays the intertwined religious and economic history of the area.
