Hasankeyf
Located in Southeastern Türkiye, Hasankeyf is an archaeological gem with over 12,000 years of human history situated on the banks of Tigris River.
The Hasankeyf’s culture is rich, having been settled by the Romans, Byzantines and Artuqids known for its medieval forts and Zeynel Bey Tomb.
Even though most of the old town was drowned by the Ilisu Dam in 2020, some monuments were moved to preserve the town’s heritage.
Hasankeyf serves as powerful symbol of cultural and development struggles around the globe.
