Monumental Gates

Monumental Gates of Perge are the grand entrance to the ancient city and display its significance in the Hellenistic and Roman eras.

The twin round towers and the courtyard setting formed a regulated transition between the outside world and the city center. Some Later Roman changes upgraded the gate with embellishing features and inscriptions.

Situated at Perge, the gates are a display of military strategies, local pride, and the rituals of building in Pamphylia.
