Priene Ancient City

Priene Ancient City sits on a slope with a view of Meander Valley and is representative of the Hellenistic city planning model in Western Turkey.

Established in the 4th century BCE, it includes a well-preserved ancient grid system, the beautiful Temple of Athena and a stoned theater with royal tiered seating.

The streets, houses, and agora demonstrate life of a classical town where philosophy, politics, and religion thrived.

Today, Priene is a peaceful and orderly testament to the concepts of ancient Greece, and allows visitors to wander freely through its timeless landscapes.
