Sardis Ancient City
The Ancient City of Sardis, located close to present-day Salihli, was the capital of Lydia and is known for King Croesus and the first coins.
There was also a synagogue and a Roman gym which are parts of a later built Temple of Artemis, indicating that the culture was blended.
The city featured streets made of marble as well as workshops used for gold-refining due to the immense wealth and innovation present in the city.
Now it is also a place of reverence and pilgrimage along with the other church of the seven churches mentioned in revelations of Christians.
