Temple of Aphrodite
Temple of Aphrodite in Knidos, located in Datca, was one of the most famous temples of the ancient world.
It once housed Aphrodite of Knidos, a groundbreaking nude statue sculpted by Praxiteles in the 4th century BCE.
The temple was circular in design, allowing visitors to view the statue from all sides. Back in time, this method was an innovation in ancient architecture.
Though only ruins remain, the site reflects the cultural and artistic legacy of classical Greece on Anatolian soil.
