Zerzevan Castle

Zerzevan Castle is overlooking the plains of Diyarbakir and concealing some secrets of the eastern border of Rome.

Constructed in the 3rd century, the castle served a crucial purpose as a fortress and even had garrisoned towers and houses, alongside an uncommon underground Mithraeum which is a temple of the ancient cult of Mithras.

Her etched walls standing bold against rays of golden dusk speak of bygone empires enduring conflicts and countless number of ageless rituals.

At present, Zerzevan reveals an omitted portion of the Roman narrative and early religious history where dominion, devotion, and masonry battled against the relentless onslaught of time.
