Zeugma Ancient City
Zeugma Ancient City is a Greco-Roman settlement established in the third century BC which lies on the Euphrates River. It served as an important Eastern and Western cultural and military center.
The city is well-known for marvelous villas and mosaics like the Gypsy Girl mosaic.
Throughout the city, myriad stunning pieces of art immortalized gods and humans, myths and day-to-day life.
Even though Zeugma faces considerable flooding, the site still provides visitors with the opportunity to experience the rich artistic and urban life of ancient Mesopotamia.
