Abraham Pools
Balikli Gol, also known as Abraham Pools, is a holy place in Sanliurfa where King Nimrod is said to have thrown Prophet Abraham into the fire.
Tradition says that God changed the fire into water and the burning logs into holy carp fish, which now swim peacefully in the pool.
Halil-ur Rahman Mosque, beautiful gardens, and stone arcades around it all make for a peaceful spiritual setting.
People in the area feed the holy fish because they think it will bring them good luck and blessings.
