Acropolis of Pergamum

Acropolis of Pergamum, overlooking present-day Bergama, was an important Hellenistic center and cultural site.

Alongside the steepest ancient theater, Pergamum’s construction had Temple of Trajan, Altar of Zeus, royal palaces and later on, the ‘steepest theater’ in the world.

Pergamum was also the pinnacle of an abundant ancient library and a thriving center for learning politics and art.

The Acropolis serves as a reminder of long-forgotten times of empires and wisdom.
