Askale District
Askale contains many historical sites and is located in Erzurum, Turkey. It is part of the ancient Silk Road which was followed by traders for centuries.
It was settled by the Hittites around 1700 BC which means that Askale has a rather long and shifting history, having changed hands a total of 35 times over the years.
Cinis Hoyuk, Askale Castle, and Evreni Tomb all belong to the district and are well-known places that reflect Askale's rich history.
As with any other place, Askale is famous for its culture which includes traditional music and folktales.
