Diyarbakir City
Diyarbakir is one of the oldest cities in southeastern Turkey and has functioned as a sociocultural and political center since ancient Mesopotamian periods.
The city is famous for having some of the longest and best preserved basalt stone walls which earns it a place as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Other than the Ulu Mosque which is a former church, other buildings and vibrant bazaars that have stood the test of time also add to the rich history of the city.
Each ethnic group contributes their own spices and ingredients to the rich blend of heritage making it even more exciting.
