Erzurum City

Erzurum stands as Turkey’s coldest city, situated on the eastern Anatolian plateau, and serves as a cradle for Ottoman and Seljuk history.

The city holds Turkey’s Double Minaret Bent School, which is called Ulu Tepesi Erzurum Kalesi.

The city was important for Turkey’s independence because of the Erzurum Congress in 1919.

Homes built from stone, warm baths, and thermal spas demonstrate the life in the mountains coupled with the eastern traditions while the city’s hearty cuisine showcases the local lifestyle.

Currently, Erzurum draws sports lovers to Palandoken Ski Resort, which combines historical with winter sport adventures.
