Hosap Castle
Located in Gurpinar close to Van in Eastern Turkey, Hosap Castle was constructed in 1643 by Mahmud-i Suleyman.
The castle served a dual purpose as a military site alongside a governor’s residence, commanding a strategic position over ancient trade routes leading to Persia.
Its massive stone walls and towers, along with inner courtyards, showcased the traditional architecture of Ottomans.
Despite being partially ruined, Hosap Kalesi still serves as a striking symbol of regional power and medieval frontier life.
