Karasu River
Located in eastern Turkey, the Karasu river is considered one of the two major sources of the Euphrates River.
With its deep and swift waters, it nurtures fertile plains while supporting farming communities that relied on the river throughout history.
It also nurtures ancient trade and migration routes which were important for the growth of eril regions.
Because of the lesser known nature of the river it is often forgotten, however, it plays a vital role in the natural and cultural geography of Turkey.
