Neve Shalom Synagogue
Neve Shalom Synagogue is the largest active synagogue in Istanbul, located in the historic Galata district. Built in 1951, it serves as the spiritual and cultural heart of Turkey’s Jewish community.
The name "Neve Shalom" means “Oasis of Peace,” reflecting its purpose as a sanctuary.
Despite tragic attacks in 1986 and 2003, the synagogue continues to host Shabbat services, weddings, and religious festivals.
It also houses the Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews, celebrating years of Sephardic heritage in Ottoman Empire and Turkey.
