Ortahisar District
Ortahisar is the historic center of Trabzon. You can see the stone houses, Byzantine and Ottoman buildings. The area also has narrow streets that all revolve around the old citadel. This area is a reminder of the many years of urban sea-side living in the eastern Black Sea region of Ortahisar.
Many of Trabzon's buildings are vintage and have been restored. This places include Ortahisar castle and many old mosques. These places all capture the architectural heritage of the region and the many sides of Ortahisar.
