Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews
The Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews in Istanbul gives guests a close look at more than 2,600 years of Jewish life in Turkey.
Founded in 2001, the museum moved to Neve Shalom Synagogue in Galata in 2015 and now sits in a peaceful, historic setting.
Inside, you will find old documents, everyday objects, and short videos that tell how the Jewish community and Turkish culture helped each other to find a way of living the life.
One fun stop is a touch-screen map showing where Jewish towns once stood, and history lovers will enjoy a 1800s hanukkiah made to look like a slender minaret.
