Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and drive to Camlihemsin district in Rize, where the stunning landscapes of the Kackar Mountains unfold. Our journey begins in Storm Valley, one of the most scenic valleys of the Black Sea region.
The Storm River, flowing rapidly through steep forested mountains, offers breathtaking views and is a paradise for rafting and nature enthusiasts.
We then continue to Zilkale Castle, a medieval fortress dramatically perched on a rocky cliff above the valley. Believed to have been built in the 14th or 15th century, the castle consists of eight towers and a watchtower, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. It once played an important role in protecting trade routes through the region.
Next, we visit Palovit Waterfall. Fed by streams descending from the Kackar Mountains, the waterfall plunges from a height of 15 meters into a lush, green canyon. Its powerful flow and misty surroundings create a mesmerizing natural scene that perfectly captures the untamed beauty of Rize.
Our route continues to Gelintulu Waterfall, located near Ayder Highland. Named for its resemblance to a “bride’s veil,” this elegant waterfall cascades down from the snow-capped peaks of the Kackar Mountains.
The water originates from the Kavron Stream and flows gracefully toward the Ayder thermal springs, where warm sulfuric waters are said to have healing properties.
Finally, we arrive at Ayder Highland, one of the most famous plateaus of the Eastern Black Sea. Situated at an altitude of 1,350 meters and surrounded by spruce and beech forests, Ayder is known for its hot springs, wooden chalets, and rich flora and fauna.
You’ll have free time to enjoy the fresh mountain air, take photos, and explore the local village atmosphere before we drive back to your hotel.
