Izmir Clock Tower
One of the most recognizable landmarks of Izmir, Turkey, is Izmir Clock Tower, located at Konak Square. It is the symbol of modern Izmir.
It was designed by the French architect Raymond Charles Péré and completed in 1901 to honor Sultan Abdulhamid II, it features elegant Ottoman architecture with delicate columns and a marble fountain at its base.
It represents both East and West. It has a quite Ottoman architectural character.
Surrounded by pigeons and city life, the tower remains a beloved meeting point and a graceful reminder of Izmir’s cosmopolitan spirit.
