Mausoleum of Halicarnassus
Located in Bodrum, the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus was constructed in the 4th Century BCE and was one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
The structure was built for King Mausolus by his wife Artemisia II, and it featured marble columns, stepped pyrimids, and sculpted friezes rising to over 40 meters.
With the term “mausoleum” emerging from its legacy, fragments still stand to tell its tale.
Nowadays, tourists can marvel at Android ruins displaying timeless Hellenistic artistry that has long surpassed the zenith of Turquoise grandeur.
