Grand Bazaar of Bursa
Bursa's Grand Bazaar (Covered Bazaar) is the historical and modern trade epicenter for the city.
It started its development as an Ottoman trade center functioning alongside various inns and mosques in the 14th and 15th centuries.
Koza Han, the center of silk trade, was the focal point of the bazaar's construction. As the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, Bursa served as a critical point in the early trade routes of the Empire, and the Covered Bazaar is a reflection of that rich history.
Today, the Grand Bazaar's narrow passageways offer silk, gold, and handcraft items, and the expert trade of local sellers.
