Avanos Town

Avanos is a picturesque town in Cappadocia, located along the Kizilirmak River, Turkey’s longest river. Known for its centuries-old tradition of pottery-making, Avanos has been crafting ceramics from the river’s red clay since Hittite times.

It is also famous for its history since Hittite civilization. The town, with its old stone houses and shoulder to shoulder market, represents the local life at its best to the visitors.

Avanos, besides, can be used as a base for many trips around the beautiful regions of Cappadocia which surround the town including rock formations and cave houses nearby.

Avanos blends craftsmanship, culture, and natural beauty in the heart of central Anatolia.
