Pasabag (Monks Valley)
Pasabag, also known as Monks Valley, is one of Cappadocia’s most striking landscapes, filled with towering fairy chimneys that have double and triple stone caps.
The region gained the name “Monks Valley” because of Christian monks living there during the Byzantine period.
These unique formations were used by hermits and monks for solitude and worship, with carved chapels hidden inside the stone pillars.
Located near Zelve, Pasabag offers a surreal scene of nature’s artistry and spiritual history, where wind and time shaped a forest of stone in the Anatolian plateau.
