Suleymaniye Mosque
Istanbul consists of seven hills and Suleymaniye Mosque takes place on the third hill with all its magnificence. And with that specific location, it overlooks the Golden Horn along with the wide views of Istanbul city.
It is one of the largest Ottoman mosques in Istanbul, built in the 16th century by architect Mimar Sinan for Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent.
The complex includes a hospital, school, and baths which are reflecting the mosque’s social role back in its time. Its large dome, elegant courtyard, and symmetrical design represent classical Ottoman architecture at its height.
