Celsus Library
Library of Celsus is one of the most iconic ruins in Ephesus, built in the 2nd century AD to honor Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, a Roman governor, within modern-day Turkey.
Once housing over 12,000 scrolls, it served as both a library and a monumental tomb. It was one of the largest libraries in the Roman Empire.
The external decor is also very intricate and preserved with fine sculptures and columns.
The library stands as a symbol of ancient knowledge and Ephesus’s cultural significance.
