Taksim Square

Taksim Square is a central public space in Beyoglu district of Istanbul, known as a symbol of modern Turkey. It is one of the largest and most lively attractions in Istanbul.

It marks the starting point of Istiklal Street and is home to the Republic Monument, which commemorates the founding of Turkish Republic in 1923.

The square has long served as a gathering place for public events, celebrations, and social movements. Nearby landmarks include cultural centers, hotels, and the historic Ataturk Cultural Center.
